Tell President Obama that Canadians support clean energy, not pipelines

Any day now, the U.S. government will approve or reject the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, which would carry oil from the tar sands in Alberta to refineries in Texas.

President Barack Obama needs to hear from you now.

He needs to know that Canadians support bold action to fight climate change.

Some U.S. leaders fear that rejecting the pipeline will put relations with Canada at risk. Let them know that Canadians will applaud bold action to fight climate change. Every leader, in every country, has a global responsibility to create a cleaner, safer future.

The priorities set in Ottawa and Washington reach across our planet. It is not only our economies that are interdependent; our air, water and our future are bound together and will be defined by our ability to act on the most important issue facing the planet.

Canadians and Americans are united for a clean, prosperous future together.

Canadians oppose Keystone XL
Dear President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry, As a Canadian concerned about climate change, I am writing to express my views directly to you. I do not share the belief of my federal government that continued oil sands development should be Canada’s priority and our path for the future. I urge you to reject the Keystone XL pipeline. I support strong action to fight climate change and a shift to investment in clean energy, by every leader, in every country. The priorities set in Ottawa and Washington reach across our planet. It is not only our economies that are interdependent; our air, water, and our future are bound together and will be defined by our ability to act on the most important issue facing the planet. Canadians and Americans are united for a clean, prosperous future together.
